The Country Code
Guard against all risk of fire
Fasten all gates
Keep your dog under close control
Keep to public paths across farmland
Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls
Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone
Take litter home
Help to keep all water clean
Protect wildlife, plants and trees
Take special care on country roads
Make no unnecessary noise
Please remember to observe The Country Code when out walking in the New Forest and be careful to take adequate clothing and footwear.
It is advisable to stay on marked footpaths, keep together at all times and leave plenty of time to complete your walks.
For
the more adventurous, a flashlight, whistle, compass and a message left with
someone or in your car at the car park could be worthwhile precautions,
especially in winter.
